For or Since

For et Since se traduisent tous les deux par “depuis“ avec le present perfect 

I haven’t called him for 6 months. (Je ne l’ai pas appelé depuis 6 mois. )

I haven’t called him since last September. (Je ne l’ai pas appelé depuis septembre dernier. )

Après FOR, on met une durée.

Après SINCE, on met un point de départ, ou une date précise.
